New Public Health Course Codes: Fall 2026

Introducing updated course Subject Codes (course prefixes).

As the School of Public Health refreshes our on-site MPH and Undergraduate programs, we’re also introducing updated course Subject Codes (course prefixes) — a change that sets us up for growth in the years ahead. Our course numbers and course titles are the same for now. And, about 25 core courses will keep the familiar PHP course prefix. For the rest of our courses, their subject codes now align with their home Department.

Check out our new Fall ’26 Subject Codes under the link below, or simply search in Courses@Brown using the course number without a prefix. The new Subject Codes include: BSS for courses in behavioral and social sciences; EPI for courses in epidemiology; HSP for courses in health services, policy, and practice; and STAT for courses in biostatistics.
